Exam Notification: UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination, 2018

COMBINED MEDICAL SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2018
Candidates to ensure their eligibility for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2018 as per regulations contained inAppendix III to the Rules of the Examination. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of e-Admit Card to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
The Services/Posts to which recruitment is to be made and the approximate
number of vacancies to be filled are given below :-
(i) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways - 300
(ii) Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Services - 16
(iii) Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services - 138
(iv) General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council - NIL
(v) General Duty Medical Gr.-II in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation - NIL.
The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of this examination is being finalised.
Age Limit: (a) A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st August, 2018, i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1986.
FEE: Candidates (Excepting Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay of fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card. ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES AND CANDIDATES BELONGING TO SCHEDULEDCASTE/SCHEDULED TRIBE/PERSONS WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITYCATEGORIESARE EXEMPTED FROM PAYMENT OF FEE. NO FEE EXEMPTION IS, HOWEVER,AVAILABLE TO OBC CANDIDATES AND THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PAY THEPRESCRIBED FEE IN FULL.
(a) Candidates are required to apply Online by using the link
www.upsconline.nic.in. Detailed Instructions for filling up Online Applications
are available on the above mentioned website. While filling in his/her online
application form, the candidate should carefully decide
about his/her choice for the centre. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination.
Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by the Commission viz. Computer based Examination and Interview/Personality Test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the Computer based Examination or Interview/ Personality Test, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the Commission.
Candidates are requested to keep ready self attested copies of the following documents for submission to the Commission soon after the declaration of the result of the Computer based examination which is likely to be declared in the month of September/October, 2018.
1. Certificate of Age.
2. Certificate of Educational Qualification.
3. Certificate in support of claim to belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes where applicable.
4. Certificate in support of claim for age/fee concession, where applicable.
5. Certificate in support of being Person with Benchmark Disability (where applicable).
Last date for submission of applications: The Online Application can be filled upto 25th May, 2018 till 6.00 P.M
How to Apply
Candidates are required to apply online by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in Brief instructions for filling up the online Application Form have been given in the Appendix-II. Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.
The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid and active E-mail i.d. while filling up Online Application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.
Penalty for wrong answers: Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
The written examination for Combined Medical Service for two objective papers will be conducted in Computer based mode. A demo module for Computer based mode of this examination will be available on UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in at the time of the launching of e-Admit Card.
